Isn’t there something ironic about claiming an interest in post-consumerism while you sell your body to have it consumed and you concomitantly consume the person who consumes you? Most post-consumerists are consumerists in disguise (looking for another fad to fetishize and consume) just as most post-modernists were modernists in disguise. Thus, another concept can turn into a stale cartoon by the time it hits the masses. Some surmise that post-modernism has always existed as a minor narrative that was momentarily thrust into the spotlight. Post-consumerism is the same.
