Walking the Lower East Side last week I came across a stylish window display. Edgy, provocative, and sexy images curated from the pages of the soon to be ubiquitous TAR magazine grace designer Jamison Ernest’s YELLOW FEVER boutique. The brand and the attire is post hipster hot. Ernest designs the type of pieces that bitches as diverse as Scarlett Johansson, Estelle, and Popwhore wear on a daily basis. Any designer with the vision to juxtapose the catwalk with hardcore pornographic images knows the true value of his product offering. Think high priced whores, trust fund hipsters, and Saudi royals rocking limited edition $500 dollar T-shirts for the creative class. Coming soon: Yellow Fever boutiques in Silver Lake, Lisbon, The Design District of Miami, and Dubai. The brand is going to be huge, invest now before the IPO.

My Weekends Would be Spent Here…

If I lived in London, I would weekend here. The property is a 650
acre private estate in the Cotswolds. This is an ideal place to have
a modern home on a lake and have access to many outdoor activities.
The best part of the website is under Local Portrait and then under
People. I like to read aloud in a British accent their little
statements. It is fabulous.

I’ve always been a fan of Le Sportsac handbags, luggage, and
accessories. There are some very unfashionable people still rocking
their older styles. But, don’t let that ruin your vision of the
brand. Stella Mc Cartney has just designed a line of handbags,
travel, kids, and accessories in a recycled eco polyester fabric.

They are adorable and fun. I especially like the “Pop Print”.

Miley Cyrus is getting a lot of attention for some “provocative”
Vanity Fair photos. I find the photo of her “somewhat nude” to be
artistic. I do, however, think that the photo of her with her father
Billy Ray to be a bit strange. But, this is the perfect time for me
to rant a bit about actresses and nudity. They all make such a big
deal about not doing nude scenes. They aren’t even nude! What is
going on? Most of the time they are in carefully choreographed scenes
rolling through sheets. The most we ever get to see is a breast or
maybe two. I don’t see the big deal.

It’s just a harmless photograph!

Priceless sparked further interest in renting more French films. I
couldn’t wait for Netflix. So, I rented The Valet from my
neighborhood indie-film rental store. It stars Gad Elmaleh in a film
by Francis Veber. You must watch this for the hottest girl-Alice
Taglioni. She is a ravishing blonde with an amazing body. She plays
a supermodel. But, check out the shots of just her face to appreciate
more. One could almost be distracted by her body and miss her face…
She is playful and smart in this role. I can’t wait to find more of
her films.

Hors de Prix

I’ve been in a French film-watching mood over the past few days. I
saw Priceless or ‘Hors de Prix’ in LA at the new Landmark Theatre on
Pico. The film stars Audrey Tatou from two of my favourite
films-Amelie and A Very Long Engagement. She is so absoulutely
perfect for this role in a modern day Breakfast at Tiffany’s. She
romps around the South of France (beautifully shot) with rich, old
men. She mistakes a young bartender (played by Gad Elmaleh) in a
hotel for a wealthy man and begins to chase him. She discovers he is
poor and leaves to pursue more old, wealthy men. He ends up needing
his own Sugar Mama, if you will. It is a gorgeous film with fantastic
fashion, great acting and an adventurous story. Audrey is so wanton
and lovely.

It is very easy for me to pick up girls. I always think of it as one
of my talents. My cute dog always draws them in as well. I was
outside in Silver Lake doing B-roll shots of LA and came across a girl
named Emilee. She stopped to say hello to my dog and we started
talking. She asked why I have a camera in hand and I told her about
my “documentary work”.
