white girl waiting for the bus near Olympic and the 405

This poor white girl was waiting for the bus near the 405 and Olympic Blvd in West Los Angeles. Is she the Popwhore conquest? Either she is a bleeding heart liberal opposed to carbon emissions or the girl’s father must be a real douche bag. Father’s remember to never let your daughter’s ride public transportation in the city of Angels. They might wind up being exploited in a pornographic orgy of post industrial narcissism.

Mid Wilshire to Tokyo

I was slumming Mid Wilshire at the El Rey Theatre for the Perez Hilton Indie-as- Fuck concert. There were some hot lesbians in the audience, but I didn’t leave with any. I found a great new band called Meiko. You can sample their music on the website meikonmyface.com Oh wait, myspace.com/meiko or Meikomusic.com. Since I was a bad girl blogger, and left my camera behind, I will post a photo of my fucking Fu Dogs. For those of you who watch my every detail, I have moved the Fu Dogs into their proper placement since the photograph was taken. Tomorrow’s question should I attend a Hollywood movie premier or jet to Tokyo. Seriously, that’s pretty good for Monday night possibilities.

Dwell on Design- San Francisco, CA

I was back in one of my favourite cities this past weekend for the Dwell on Design Conference. I also attended the San Francisco Living Home Tours. My pink gold Parisian heels went trekking around San Francisco hills. Yes, I was the only female in heels. Sad.

Architect Craig Steely showed his beautiful Bernal Heights home. The home sits on a lot that was once considered to be unbuildable. The home features four bedrooms, decks with views, a media room, a service elevator, and a gorgeous use of glass. Get your checkbooks out, because the house is on the market for $2.4.

I like to respect when they ask for no photographs. So, I refrained from taking what would have been neat blog photos. But, towards the end of the day, I just had to snap one. I have included a shot of the main house from the Ocean Beach residence. This house has been featured in the NY Times. It is a mid-century modern home that has been connected to a newly constructed structure through a glass bridge on the second floor.

Walls of Glass define this Ocean Beach home…

On the market for 2.4 million in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights

Ratatouille-The Peasant Dish

I am not one of those creepy adults who loves Disney Pixar movies. However, let me rave about this one. If you have children, take them to see it. If you don’t, you should still go see it.

The film is set in an authentic-feeling Paris. The kitchen is modelled after Thomas Keller’s French Laundry and has every bit of the excitement of a restaurant kitchen.

The characters are rich and full. I especially enjoy the food critic.

The food looks beautiful. Brilliant animation. I love my Emeryville Pixar boys. Good work!

I am going to say this is one of my favourite films of the year! Yes,
I said it.

Eco Chic

Eco Chic-eco has never been more stylish than now. It isn’t just for
people wearing hemp clothing and composting their organic leftovers.
It has reached a new level. Organic style isn’t cheap.

I love the new Eco Pod Recycling System. at Williams-Sonoma. It
retails for $328.

I love the look of this can crusher

I have my housekeeper switched to using only Method cleaning products
on my home. They are from San Francisco and they do darling packaging as well as green products with scents you can stand to be around. Their website has the cutest photo on the front right now of a modern house in a bottle.

Anyone that has lived in NYC or had coffee from a Greek paper cup will
appreciate this product. It is an eco-friendly ceramic version of the
cup.

A great book about this subject: The Lazy Environmentalist: Your guide
to easy, stylish, Green Living.

I’ve Got a New Haircut

I’ve got a new haircut to report. I went to world famous Sally Hershberger for a new look. I saw her at her salon in the Meatpacking District in NYC. She is fabulous and entertaining to be
around and she does good hair.

Day of Reckoning?

While the mortgage meltdown continues, the leisure class continues it’s decadent consumption. The markets were hit hard

in Tokyo this morning…

You’re either with us or against us…

Dirty Domestic Barbie

I have always loved playing with Barbie dolls. Since I am no longer
six years old the only appropriate way for me to have some around is
to “collect”. From time to time I purchase cute Barbie dolls that I
keep in my closet. This is my newest doll. Her “real” name is
“Learn to Cook Barbie” and she even comes with a little set of pots
and pans. I have named her Dirty Domestic Barbie.

iphone- Form Over Function

Of course I’ve got it. I think I own almost every Apple product.
No, I didn’t stand in line or have a representative stand in line. I
just lucked out and got one the first weekend. Ah, but did I luck out?

Please understand that I adore the style and function of all Apple
products. I was excited about the iPhone but, I was a bit leery. I
let my (god forbid) practical side enter into the evaluation of it as
a product for me.

So, I already have a nano for working out, an ipod video for the car
and plane… Do I really need one on my phone? Not really. But, it
does look cool when the album covers come up.

The keyboard is pretty but, it is awful to type. I can cross the
street in NYC and never look down once at my Blackberry, typing a
perfect email. This will never be possible without a tactile feel of
the keyboard. Touchscreen looks cool but, it isn’t as practical.

I hate being practical! It is really bothering me the more I type
this. However, what I should do is type this blog on the iphone and
you will all see the many strange words that will come from the
keyboard.

The predictable typing is actually the most intelligent I have ever
seen and I think it is something that one could get used to.

I do have to say that it is handy for showing people I meet the
trailers. I can keep ilovepopwhore.com in my handbag. Now that is a
fun plus!

All of my emails from it should be signed “fucked up typing brought
to you from my iphone” instead of “sent from my iphone”.

The pros: stylish design and interface
The cons: clumsly e-mail pop application, no built in ichat, long battery recharge time, a keyboard bordering on a disaster, no flash browser for safari.

The verdict: don’t leave home without a Blackberry and an iphone if you must write detailed oriented e-mails. If all you care about is showing your friends content, and logging into Facebook, this phone is excellent.
